Topographic Surveys

Building contractors and architects often need a topographic survey to determine the slope, drainage patterns, and elevation of a given building site. Topographic surveys resemble much more detailed versions of commercially available topographic maps, and will often include natural features such as rocks, rises, streambeds and ponds. Topographic surveys also include man-made objects (buildings, powerlines, etc) especially as they related to building goals.

Contractors can use topographic surveys to decide how much foundational dirt needs to be moved, how a home will sit on the land, where drainage water will run, etc.

Generating a topographic survey requires precise on-site data collecting, and some subsequent computer post-processing to generate contours and plots. Summit Land Surveying uses the latest computer-aided surveying software to ensure that you get an accurate, useful map.
